Description

London' style compound microscope, manufactured by Beck. The black stand has a Y-shaped foot with a short pillar supporting the curved limb via a compass joint. The body tube moves on rackwork for coarse focusing and a graduated knob on the limb adjusts the fine focus. The eyepiece drops into a graduated draw tube that telescopes from the top of the body. A rotating objective changer is attached to the lower end of the body. Two of the three sockets hold objectives. A sub stage condenser with an iris diaphragm and a pivoting mount for aperture discs is mounted on rackwork below the rectangular stage. A Plano-concave mirror is set in a horseshoe mount on the lower end of the limb.

The instrument is stored in a wooden carrying case, with fittings for holding accessories. Also stored within the case is an additional eyepiece and a glass disc.
