Description

Microscope and accessories in case. This microscope copper alloy instrument stands on a circular base. A cylindrical housing with a rectangular window holds the concave mirror on a spindle. The angle of the mirror is adjusted by a knob on the side of the instrument. The stage is set on the top of the housing. It consists of two plates with circular holes in the centre. The upper plate is raised and lowered, for fine focusing by a vertical screw on the side of the housing. A cylindrical pillar on the rear of the lower stage plate supports a sleeve that holds the body tube. The eyepiece pushes into a draw tube that telescopes from the top of the body and the objective lenses screw onto the conical nose. The fitted case is mahogany. There are two eyepieces and five button objectives, in a small wooden box, that can be used in combination.
