Description

The case is mahogany and has a hinged lid with a locking mechanism and a top-level compartment for the accessories. There are eight holders of various shapes and sizes for the accessories, seven of which are lined with sap green felt padding. The underside of the lid has a painted silver coating. Below the top compartment are four drawers, of which two are 25mm deep and the other two are 40mm deep.

The accessories are two ivory sliders.

A live box.

A copper alloy objective with a dust cap that is marked "2".

Stage forceps with a sharp point at the other end of the shaft.

Seven rectangular glass plates of various sizes, one of which has a cut-out paper circle stuck to the centre.

The case also contains a small key with a length of string attached to the handle that unlocks the box.

A larger key with an unknown purpose.
