Description
The barrel consists of a copper alloy cylinder with a circular aperture at one end with an internal screw thread. A second cylinder having an external screw thread fits the first. The stage consists of three thin circular copper alloy plates that are held against the end of the inner cylinder by a Steel spring. There are two flat copper alloy plates between which slides can be fitted, and the third has a semi-circular indentation to take glass phials. There is a boss at the side of the instrument set in a lozenge plate which has an internal thread to take the Ivory handle. There are three objectives with caps, a can containing an objective with a Lieberkühn, an Ivory talc box, a copper alloy slider with no specimens and three Ivory sliders, some with compartments containing specimens. The case is softwood, covered with black fish skin, lined with blue velvet and the edges have been painted red.
