Description

The binocular body tube is mounted on a rack and pinion, for focusing on the shaped limb. The inter-ocular distance is adjusted by a screw near the top of the body. At the lower end of the body is a screw for fine focusing and a slot for the prism for binocular use. A rotating nosepiece holds two objectives. The limb is held on trunnions on two pillars. These stand on a disc on the flat, folding tripod base. The mechanical stage is attached to the limb at the level of the trunnions. Three knobs adjust the position of the stage plate on which is a sliding bracket with a pinhole to support specimens and accessories. Below the stage is a rotating disk with four apertures and a slot with a pinion to take a condenser. A post with a triangular cross section extends below the stage and a sliding sleeve supports the plano-concave mirror.
