Description

Withering "pop-up" design. The box is mahogany, with green velvet lining in the base and compartments for accessories. The lid is hinged at one end with instructions for use printed on a label on the inside. The pillar is fixed to the hinge and rises to a vertical position as the box is opened. An ivory stage, with a blackened upper surface, is attached to the pillar by a hinge on a collar. The lens for the top of the pillar is missing. steel forceps are present. There is also a lens in a copper alloy setting that is probably a later addition.
