Description

The box is mahogany, with green velvet lining in the base. The lid is hinged at one end with instructions for use printed on a label on the inside. The pillar is fixed to the hinge and rises to a vertical position as the box is opened. An Ivory stage is attached to a collar, with an Ivory knob, which can slide on the pillar for focusing. A lens is set on a hinge at the top of the pillar in an Ivory annulus, part of which is painted black. There are compartments in the box for accessories but none are present.
