Description
Compound microscope by Robert-Aglae Cauchoix (1776-1845), a French optician and instrument maker. The cylindrical pillar stands on a folding, flat tripod foot. The mount for the body tube is attached to the pillar by a semicircle with a locking screw. The square sectioned limb extends below this joint. The body has two draw tubes and an eyepiece with two lenses. The objective screws onto the conical nose. The stage is racked up and down on the limb for focusing. It has a mechanical stage plate and a rotating disk with four apertures is attached beneath.
