Description

Screwbarrel microscope by Wilson. The microscope consists of a copper alloy cylinder with a threaded hole at one end to take the eyepiece. A second copper alloy cylinder that has a an external thread screws into the first. Three copper alloy disks make up the stage and are held against the internal cylinder by a steel spring. There is a boss at the side of the outer cylinder to take a handle. Case contains 6 bone sliders.

The accessories are an ivory talc box with copper alloy rings and mica windows, an attachment to hold an objective while using forceps, a knob with a milled edge that screws into the barrel, a pasteboard slide case covered in black leather with eight Ivory sliders, a long copper alloy wire coiled towards one end for cleaning the inside of a glass tube and eight objectives, four with lids two with no glass and one with a Lieberkühn in a can. The case is softwood, covered in black fish skin, lined with green velvet.
